Damera Corporation will be participating in the Ontario Transportation Expo (OTE) 2026, sharing insights from its work in electric minibuses and presenting its flagship solution — the Karsan eJEST.

The OTE 2026, together with the inaugural ZEB User Conference by the Ontario Public Transit Association, brings together transit agencies, operators, engineers, and technology providers to address one of the most important challenges facing the industry today: how to deploy zero-emission transit in real operating conditions.
This is not only a platform for discussion — it is a working environment where agencies evaluate solutions based on performance, reliability, and long-term impact.
The eJEST will be showcased as part of the event, providing an opportunity to experience a right-sized, low-floor electric minibus designed for microtransit, paratransit, and community routes. Its compact footprint, quiet operation, and accessible design reflect a practical approach to electrification — one that simplifies deployment while improving service quality.
Damera’s perspective is grounded in real operational experience. Through the expertise of the Damera Group and hands-on work from Mississauga Bus Coach and Truck Repairs, the team brings deep understanding of vehicle lifecycle performance — from maintenance and refurbishment to system-level integration.
This experience shapes how solutions are evaluated and delivered.
At OTE, Damera will also contribute to Session 4: Vehicle Design and Propulsion, where industry leaders will explore the engineering decisions behind next-generation zero-emission buses.

🎤 Deniz Cetin, representing Karsan
The session will focus on real-world considerations such as propulsion systems, battery technologies, thermal management, diagnostics, and long-term maintainability — factors that directly influence how vehicles perform in daily service.
The broader conversation at OTE reflects a shift across the industry:
from innovation alone — to implementation that works.
Right-sized electric minibuses play a key role in this transition. They reduce infrastructure demands, improve fleet utilization, and allow agencies to electrify gradually — creating a scalable and cost-effective path forward.
Meaning behind our work
Developing transit, enhancing supply chains in Ontario means more than local production — it creates a stronger, more resilient foundation for transit and economy of Ontario and Canada.
Locating manufacturing, assembly, and critical components closer to the market enhances delivery efficiency, strengthens service responsiveness, and mitigates supply chain risks.
Creating jobs is an important part of that. Skilled roles in assembly, maintenance, engineering, and support not only strengthen the local economy, but also ensure that transit systems are backed by people who understand the vehicles and can support them throughout their lifecycle.
At the same time, investing in technology development locally helps accelerate innovation that is directly relevant to North American transit agencies — shaped by real operating conditions, regulations, and service needs.
For Damera, this is not just about growth as a company.
It’s about contributing to a system where:
We are making transit more dependable, more efficient, and better aligned with the needs of the communities it serves.
